The timer job is always successful ( every 5 minute ) and i tried several times to run it manually. Any thoughts on how to get these old alerts working? I proceeded to test the new alert by creating a test announcement item in the list.  Within 5 minutes I received the alert as I would expect.    So if new alerts publishing editor rights ?

If a user creates a new alert they receive the email notifications right away. Your script rocked - except for one item - I had to blank the siteurl first before I inputed the correct one.
