Working... All other lights work and the bulbs are good (brake light bulb is brand new as well), it also has a brand new battery so that is not a problem either. No luck I noticed today that my 5A fuse in the 8 slot was blown. If the switch proves to be bad, however, I plan to run a new wire from some point that's hot with the engine on to the tail light.

They are independent of each other.

If the headlight is working, then the tail light filament in the bulb has blown. i didnt know weather to laugh or cry when i finally sussed it its the first thing i do now when lights play up. You just keep checking the voltage on wiring from the battery to the componets .
